Brands borrow from culture. I make them earn interest.

Why meand not an agency

Agencies sell to clients. I sell to the Brand Custodian with a perception problem. The Product Evangelist who sweats the barely noticeable details. The Business Development team that has a number to hit. Above all, to the audience all of them need to reach.

Which is why I build campaigns → belief systems. One truth. One language. One set of symbols. Held long enough that the category wishes it could speak your dialect.

Seven years. Auto, tech, alco-bev, sport, lifestyle.
Not a commentator. A practitioner, through and through.

Put me to work

A

Brand platform

One truth, one language, one set of symbols. Built as a system your teams can run without me.

6–10 weeks
B

Launch narrative

Keynote to caption. The CEO's script, the film slate, the demos, the supers.

4–8 weeks
C

Culture collaboration

The partner, the artist, the show, the drop. Contribution, not sponsorship.

Project-based
[ 06 ]Thirty minutes, no deck

Brief me

Half an hour is usually enough to work out whether I'm the right person for this, and where the interesting problem actually sits. Bring it in whatever shape it's currently in.

  • 01What the brand is for, in your own words
  • 02The number that has to move, and what's been tried already
  • 03Who inside the company will back the work

Still here?

Five paragraphs. Mostly about pretending.

Since you've scrolled all this way, I'm assuming you want to know more. It all began when I started pretending to be a copywriter in 2019. Four agencies, an automaker, an audio tech startup and a bunch of others bought it. As most creative careers go, I don't know at what point the pretending stopped.

I'm pretending to be a Creative Director these days. I love it, because it's the closest thing to conducting an orchestra that pays the bills.

I also used to pretend to be an engineering student and a journalist. But this website would look a whole lot different if any of that worked out.

First impressions may make it seem like I have a way with words. But to be honest, words end up having their way with me. Somewhere in between, I find ways to help brands visualise and verbalise what they stand for.

Sometimes, I create things no one wants to buy. Like these stickers that take something that everyone agrees with, only to turn it against them.
